Chiropractic health care is a healing discipline firmly grounded in science. Although its main focus is the relationship between the skeleton (particularly the spine) and the nervous system that runs through it, chiropractic is concerned with care of the entire body. Manual adjustments of different bones in the body and the treatment of the muscles, ligaments and tendons around them are their primary methods of helping your body heal itself.

Chiropractic helps to remove postural imbalances and structural misalignments that can accumulate in our bodies over time. Left unchecked over time, changes in our spines can lead to pain, stiffness or other serious problems.

The classical Chinese explanation is that channels of energy (Qi or Chi) run in regular patterns through the body and over its surface. These energy channels, called meridians, are like rivers flowing through the body to irrigate and nourish the tissues. An obstruction in the movement of these energy rivers is like a dam that backs up in others.
The meridians can be influenced by needling the acupuncture points; the acupuncture needles unblock the obstructions at the dams, and reestablish the regular flow through the meridians.
Interpreting the nature of Qi is the cornerstone of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This highly effective system of medical care is based on natural laws which govern the movement of vital life giving energy, both in nature and in the body. In health, Qi supports the harmonious functions of the body, mind and spirit. In illness, Qi moves with disharmony; imbalance begins to surface in the form of specific symptoms. To treat the disharmony of Qi, all symptoms are viewed holistically in relationship to the whole person.
